Manual vs Chemical Exfoliation

Are you still using abrasive scrubs, loofahs or dry brushes? These physical exfoliants can lead to microtears, inflammation and the loss of collagen in your skin.

Try switching to a gentle, yet powerful chemical exfoliant like AHA, BHA, retinol, bakuchiol, or tretinoin. These ingredients penetrate the skin and activate cell turnover which gets rid of dead skin cells and reveals brighter, smoother, more radiant looking skin.

Tips for incorporating a chemical exfoliant into your routine:

  • Only use at night after you wash your face or body
  • Always follow with a moisturizer
  • Start slow. Try using 2-3 times a week and gradually increase over time
  • Do not overuse or you may experience dryness and  irritation
