WHAT IS CO2 LASER?
Fractionated carbon dioxide laser resurfacing is a common treatment for wrinkles and sun damage. This treatment carefully injures the skin to stimulate the growth of new, healthier appearing skin. However, the treatment is associated with one to two weeks of recovery with skin redness, swelling and crusting. Ointments are typically used during the recovery period to optimize healing. This study compared healing and patient satisfaction between Doctor Rogers RESTORE ® Healing Balm and Aquaphor® Healing Ointment, which is the current gold standard.

HEALING AFTER LASERING: Aquaphor VS RESTORE Healing Balm
In all measured outcomes of recovery, including redness, swelling, crusting and overall healing, RESTORE Healing Balm performed better than Aquaphor.
PATIENT PREFERENCE
Ninety percent of patients preferred RESTORE Healing Balm over Aquaphor, found it easier to use and were more likely to use it in the future.
“When reapplying each side RIGHT (RESTORE) is my very clear favorite. If there was a choice of ointment to use I would most definitely prefer the RIGHT (RESTORE) no matter what it turns out to be for any future dermatologic procedures."
“For me, RIGHT (RESTORE) is the very clear 'winner. LEFT (Aquaphor) had a good start, but, after the crusting and oozing subsided it was not as easily applied….. and the acne on my left chin is not good. I would highly recommend RIGHT ointment for healing in this procedure.”
