All of our ingredients are carefully selected to be safe, effective, hypoallergenic, clean (no petrochemicals), vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free and biodegradable.

Doctor Rogers RESTORE® Face Cream

  1. Distilled water
  2. Squalane: A moisturizer and skin conditioner that replenishes fatty acids and antioxidants. Ours is sourced from fermented sugar plants, EcoCert-approved, USDA certified, 100% bio-based, and readily biodegradable.
  3. Butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter: A plant lipid (fat) extracted from the karite tree used as a moisturizer to protect and replenish the skin. Shea butter provides a rich texture and is filled with antioxidants, including quercetin, epicatechin gallate, gallocatechin, epigallocatechin. Ours is non-GMO, readily biodegradable and Proposition 65 compliant.
  4. Niacinamide (Vitamin B3): An effective skin-restoring moisturizer shown to improve skin barrier function and reduce the appearance of enlarged pores, uneven skin tone, fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, redness and irritation.
  5. Glycerin: An important natural component of the skin, studies show glycerin combined with emollients speeds healing, reduces irritation and restores normal skin barrier function. The vegetable glycerin used in RESTORE products is harvested from sustainably farmed oil palm trees and is United States Pharmacopeia (USP) grade. This is the highest grade available, making it acceptable for food, drug, or medicinal use. It is also non-GMO and compliant with the US Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act and Proposition 65.
  6. Cetearyl olivate: An emulsifier made with fatty acids from olive oil and sugar used to maintain the cream’s carefully crafted balance of oils and water. When mixed with sobitan olivate the combination mimics the skin’s lipid bilayer promoting affinity with the skin to improve absorption. Ours is COSMOS approved, biodegradable and non-comedogenic.
  7. Cetearyl alcohol: An emollient derived from coconut fat used to improve skin hydration and the texture of the cream. Ours is non-GMO and Proposition 65 approved.
  8. Jojoba esters: An emollient used to improve skin hydration and skin barrier function with important plant-derived fatty acid from jojoba seed oil. Ours is biodegradable, non-GMO, COSMOS approved and non-comedogenic.
  1. Sorbitan olivate: An emulsifier containing fatty acids from olive oil and sugar used to maintain the cream’s carefully crafted balance of oils and water. When mixed with cetearyl olivate, the combination mimics the skin’s lipid bilayer promoting affinity with the skin to improve absorption. Ours is COSMOS approved, biodegradable and non-comedogenic.
  2. Centella asiatica extract: The hypoallergenic extract from a medicinal herb (Indian pennywort and gotu kola) with powerful antioxidants that have been shown to soothe inflamed skin, improve skin barrier function, increase hydration and aid in healing. Ours is non-GMO and is compliant with the US Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act and Proposition 65.
  3. Behenyl alcohol: A plant-derived emulsifier and emollient from rapeseed oil used to build the luxurious feel of the cream and provide a protective layer on the skin to help prevent water loss. Ours is preservative free, non-GMO and Proposition 65 compliant.
  4. Leuconostoc/radish root ferment filtrate: A natural antimicrobial peptide, ours is EcoCert-approved, non-GMO, biodegradable and compliant with US Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.
  5. Adenosine: An important biomolecule found in our DNA and RNA and a source of energy for cells. When applied to the skin, studies have shown it improves skin smoothness and decreased the appearance of wrinkles.
  6. Allantoin: An extract from urea used to soothe the skin. Allantoin occurs naturally in the body and plants. Ours is non-GMO and Proposition 65 compliant.
  7. Lactobacillus: A probiotic to help prevent the growth of unwanted bacteria and yeast. Ours is ecocert-approved, non-GMO, biodegradable and compliant with US Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.
  8. Cocos nucifera fruit extract: The extract of the fruit of the coconut tree, it is rich in fatty acids, proteins, and complex B vitamins to feed the skin. Ours is EcoCert-approved, non-GMO, biodegradable and compliant with US Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.
  9. Xanthan gum: A thickening and stabilizing agent made from the fermentation of plant-derived sugars.
  10. Citric acid: Plant-derived vitamin C used to maintain the pH of the product.

It is our goal to use plant-based ingredients whenever possible. In our face cream and face lotion we had to make a tough decision between proven safety and efficacy versus using only plant-based ingredients. We picked safety and efficacy and used synthetic versions of 3 ingredients: Niacinamide, adenosine and allantoin for the following reasons:

  1. A lower risk of irritation or allergic reaction.
  2. More clinical studies with the synthetic versions showing safety and efficacy.
  3. Required to reach the higher, therapeutic concentrations found in our products.

Please note that the synthetic version of these plant-derived molecules are still bioidentical, clean (made without petrochemicals), biodegradable, vegan and make up less than 5% of the product.

Doctor Rogers RESTORE® Healing Balm

  1. Castor Oil:  A well-known and well-studied, hypoallergenic plant oil that's known to hydrate the skin and decrease inflammation.  Castor oil is unusually high in ricinoleic acid, which technically speaking is an unsaturated omega-9 fatty acid with a hydroxyl group on the 12th carbon. This unique chemical structure causes the oil to be both hydrophilic (water-loving) and lipophilic (fat-loving) allowing much better penetration into the skin than other vegetable oils.  This results in many benefits for the skin while serving as a powerful emollient (moisturizer) and protectant.  Only the highest grade castor oil, per the International Castor Oil Association (ICOA) industry specifications, are used in RESTORE®️ products.  The oil is obtained from seeds (castor beans) by hydraulic pressing.  No solvents are used to extract the oil.
  3. Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Castor Wax): Another wax that protects and hydrates dry skin while increasing the stability of the lip balm.

A note about ricin in castor seeds. Ricin is only found in the shells of the seeds. The seeds are crushed to extract castor oil and as ricin is not oil-soluble, little to none is found in the extracted oil. But to be safe the extracted oil is then heated to denature any ricin that could be present. You do not need to worry about ricin contamination in any of our products.
